SD Memory Cards

I have bought my parenrs a digital photo frame for Christmas and want to give it to them with photos all ready to go .... it takes SD cards ............. so ....... I know i need to buy a card, but then how to I get the photos from my laptop to the card?????????? Do I need to buy something else also?

You will need a card reader, they are only a couple of quid, it plugs into a usb port and your computer will recognize it (XP and Vista) you then can just right click whatever photo you want to transfer and sent to memory stick (f) usually.

depending on it's age, there would be a good chance that your laptop might have a built in card reader.

Most modern ones do now, so have a good look round for a little slot on it that's marked SD card or similar.

If not no big deal because as above said they are only a couple of quid.

Whether plugging in a card reader to your computer, or using an existing card slot , the computer will see the inserted card as another hard drive. You can drag and drop, or copy and paste, from the photo folder to the card.

thats what I thought was wondering what all this card reader business was about thought you just drag it all back on card file

Roaldo, if you read the question again, you will see that Echokilo is wanting the photographs put onto a Memory Card to be inserted into Digital Photo Frame.

Thanks to all of you who replied - next question is who sells card reader thingys .. have look in argos catalogue - nothing.... do I need to go to Currys or simliar...?
