Hi All! I've been completing job applications for a few months now, one I sent a few weeks back requested a photo on the application form but i did'nt send. I've not heard back, could it be that i really should have sent a photo?? The position was a Care Assistant.

I have another application for a different company, still as a Care Assistant that again requests a photo, please can someone tell me why? it seems such an odd request and i really do not like the idea of my photo being anything to do with a job application. Any ideas would be appreciated.....If this is standard practice then i will do it, it just seems odd.....

I have no idea whay they want a phot.
However, not completing an application form as requested will certainly lead to you not getting the job.
in my job I often contact employers, and will ask for a photograph of the employee if they have one.. and most do.
here in teneroife
a cv requires a photo

no photo they will bin the cv

so im informed by my accountant and a lawyer too

dunno if its legal but its the norm
I think it will help identify sex and ethnic origin if nothing else, it is a way of avoiding a surprise when you think you are inviting a female to an interview and a maler turnes up etc. it is a subtle way of vetting applicants which can bde both negatove and positive.
Sorry, you did not get the job.

Just ask yourself , who would want an employee who cannot follow a simple request?
