Who introduced Medcare & Medicaid in the U.S, ?

Maybe this should have been in history?....

Harry Truman tried to pass an assistance program under the Fair Deal program, but it was never passed.  But in 1965, Pres. Johnson pushed Congress to pass Medicare and Medicaid. all according to my old history book. hope this helps.
