I was washing my face with my contacts still in (totally forgot they were still in), and then one of my contacts got lost. I eventually found it, and took most of it out but there's still a small bit of one in my eye.
It's quite sore. It happened last night, and I've slept since and woken up with gunk in my eye, obviously because my eye is trying to get rid of it.
I've tried drops etc, nothing has worked. It's sunday, so doctor's and opticians aren't open, and I need to get back to uni (which is in a different city!) by tonight. Should I go to A and E, or is that too extreme?
Give A&E a ring and ask their advice.
Don't think it's too extreme, though. Eyes are awfully precious, so I'd go.
I cannot think you will be the first person to have done this, or the last.
All the best.
A and E . It's more than likely that your eye is scratched . You might needs drops. Eyes are very important ( we need them to see things ;o ) dont take any risks with them. Hope you dont have too long a wait there.
this has happened to me a few times, most times i realised theres no contact lenses in there after all. But on a few occasions i just give the eye a rest and try again later.
Are you ok now pauli? I wear contact lenses but hard ones so never had this problem but it is a killer when it goes up in my eye so it must be awful for you!
Hope you went to A&E and got it sorted, please don't leave it!
