Anne's blogette...
19 Answers
Hi guys! I'm out of the dungeon, so am able to post as myself!
Please excuse the non-Q&P type thread again, but I'd like to pass on news of my friend Anne, as many of you have kindly expressed an interest.
She had her first chemo treatment on Friday at St Bart's & although it went "well", she found it most uncomfortable, having spent a lot of the day in a "bizarre, bright red scalp-cooling hat" whilst being drip-fed her drugs.
Her partner was with her, so she wasn't alone, but actually getting treatment finally brought home to her that she's really quite ill.
She was sent home & told to rest the effect of the treatment wouldn't be felt for 2/3 days, but when it kicked in, she'd know about it! However, the Universe wasn't in the mood to "play nice" & her father had a heart attack on Saturday, forcing her to abandon her bed for his bedside in hospital.
I've just spoken to her, & she's staying at his house to be near him until he's discharged in a few days. Her doctors were correct with their advice, however she now feels very unwell. Now, if Anne says she's feeling rough, then it's true she's usually unfazed by illness or injury & just laughs them off.
Oh, & meanwhile, her brother & his wife were due in from the US, when they were hit by another car. After a night in hospital, they're fine & are on their way.
We're all hoping for a full recovery for her father, before more tests & treatment for Anne in early March. Naturally, her first thoughts are for him & she's arranging full-time care for him (he has Alzheimer's & they've used these nurses before), which will give her the time she needs to take care of herself.
We truly appreciate the kindness that you've all shown to us, & please be assured that Anne is greatly cheered when reading your replies!
Until the next update,
Love, Lie-in King & Anne!

Very happy you are also released from the dungeon and allowed to post as yourself! Have you been able to reclaim your proper attire, crossword pyjamas?

Hi your royalness! I haven't been on AB much over the last few days so have only just learned you've been in clink. As DocHH says, hope you're back in your crossword jammys and have got shot of the pair adorned with little arrows (you old jail-bird!) A gross miscarriage of justice! judy x
Hi there Anne...you've certainly had a lot to deal with of late but do try to get some rest when you can. I send you and your dad my very best wishes. kindest regards judy x
