O God I cant remember if the vocative of Octavius is regular or not.
Depends what you want. Roman artefacts, British Museum. Stuff above ground? Dorchester? Excavated villas: Chedworth or Fishbourne
Bath is Good,
The longest aqueduct in Europe is da daaah at Dorchester from Frampton, but is just a ditch 6 miles long (a very exciting one, which I have run along) and not at all like Pont du Gard at Nimes or Segovia
Roman road? There's a three hundred metre segment at Blackstone edge Saddleworth Moor,
Sculpture - Oh God try the Ny Carlsberg exhibition of the Copenhagen Glypotek (10 to get in, but remember it's Culture!) Amazing number of Roman Imperial heads, busts torsos from the temple of Diana at Nermi
Fishbourne Palace is near Chichester. Its a lovely place. Over the last couple of years I have read lots of historical novels, fiction + fact and have developed a real fascination for the era. Thanks for all your ideas, I will definitely aim for the places you have listed.
I have already been to Rome so I was looking for something closer to home. Cheers everyone.
