Bank Holiday for some....
18 Answers
Well before I head off into the night,i would like to klnow if anyone is working on Bank Holiday tomorrow.
I am worse luck....I would have preferred to have a nice long weekend.Typical of the firm I work for.
All they think of is profit,profit,profit........
Some stores don't think of the employees welfare.....
All who work in our wholesaler store just get a full days pay and an extra days leave for this year. It's supposed to be a holiday for all.Oh well,I shall go in tomorrow as if I've got the Monday blues.Hah!!
:-D
It's amazing that so many people shop on a Bank Holiday.Personally I never shop on a Bank Holiday.
I mean it's only one day after all.Why don't people shop the day after, although I bet some people would like to shop on their day off.Go and do something else I say.
Forget about all these sales....come on join my petition and boycott shopping on Bank Holidays....
I feel better now I've said that.Sorry about my moaning!
Going to bed soon....

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.As I've posted many times before, I wish that we could simply abolish all public holidays (except, possibly, over the Christmas period). I'm most definitely not suggesting that anyone should get fewer holidays but simply that we should get rid of the idea that (theoretically) everyone is on holiday at the same time.
As you point out, Imhotep, there are many people for whom the concept already isn't working. Further, there are people who find that (for example) they have to take Good Friday and Easter Monday as part of their annual holiday allowance, when they might rather have a couple of days added onto their summer holiday instead.

Oh that comment was sneakily placed a minute behind mine there Chris.
Although a good point taken there.
Mind you,I do like my holidays.
The more the merrier I say. So,I wouldn't abolish them!!
Mwahaha!!
Before you head of elsewhere Chris. Can you tell me why I cannot Refresh the Recent posts box above right.I am using the Mozilla Firefox browser. Is that got something to do with it?

Hi Imhotep.
I've already 'headed off elsewhere' (to another thread) so I've only just seen your post.
Firefox is inherently more secure than Internet Explorer. One of the ways it achieves that objective is by deliberately not recognising certain types of web code, which can be used for malicious purposes. The 'Refresh' feature, on this page, uses that type of coding.
One way around the problem is to configure Firefox to automatically refresh the page at pre-set intervals. How do you do that? Easy, use this:

I 'll be going soon as well Cath .
It's getting abit late for me too.
Many thanks Chris for the helpful advice as usual...
Yes,I agree with Firefox. It can be a bit too secure for my liking.
Trying to get access to some websites is soooo annoying.
It keeps blocking me all the bloomin' time.
Aaargh!! Oh well, at least I've still got my usual back up Google browser.I can always use that if Firefox denies my access to websites.
Thanks again anyway......
