And as far as I know refers to the part of central station that crosses Argyll Street in Glasgow. It was a meeting point for people coming into Glasgow from the Highlands and Islands - where they gathered to shelter from the rain and have a chat.
There is now a pub in that area that is called the heilenman's (sp?) umbrella.
