Do you mean, "What is the largest number of languages spoken by any one person?

Theres a guy that works at the Pyramids of Giza that can converse in 11 languages. obviously not fluent but he can communicate well

Obvoiusly Bernardo and Indiesinger haven't seen this question yet as I'm sure they will comment as both speak various languages.

There have been various people who could speak dozens of languages, although it is rather meaningless to count an exact figure because various different levels of fluency and comprehensiveness would apply to different languages.  And if someone knows dozens of labnguages then the less-well-known ones would easily be forgotten without regular practice.

 

Incidentally I only "speak" several languages in the sense that I have studied several, but I am not fluent in any apart from English.  I would be able to bhave a limited conversation in French, German and Esperanto, and I have at various times studied Dutch, Welsh, Turkish, Volapuk, Italian, and dabbled in many others.
