is my teacher smoking?

i have this teacher at school and i think he is smoking but im not sure. one day i was talking to him and his breath smelled like smoke really bad. so i was wondering if you could tell me how to find out if he is smoking, without going up to him and asking him?

Steal his cigarettes and see if he loses his rag.  Seriously though, it's none of your business if he smokes or not.  There is such a thing as privacy you know!

• Is he smoking in the class in front of the pupils?
• Does the school have a strict no-smoking policy for staff as well as pupils?

 

If the answers to these questions are both "No", then it doesn't matter and it is not your concern.  If you are merely curious, you could just ask him, but you should be ready for him to tell you to mind your own business, and he doen't have to answer.

Presuming your teacher is over 16, I really don't think there's a problem. He is allowed, you know.

Why don't you offer him one of yours, if he accepts, then you know the answer.

Like it really matters - although he should be banned from smoking in pubs and restaurants if he does smoke.
