Parking in london

I'm going to see a show in the west end near to xmas, but wanted to drive up and park just outside the centre (and the congestion charge) and then get the tube into the west end - we will only be parked for about 8 hours - can anyone recommend somewhere - not overly pricey?

We always park at Richmond, a big carpark on the A3 (I think) as you drive in
