I am not quite understanding what the swearing thread is about, or what the filter means. Could someone clarify please, because this is how it appears to me to work, if an aber types a swear word, if the techies have added that swearword to the swear filter, (whatever a swearfilter on a website is), the word is somehow changed automatically into another inofensive word or phrase and appears in the post. But if that is the case, why have some offensive words appeared on the site, and why have some words appeared starred out. Also, if the poster using the swear word looks in the thread in thier profile, does the original swear word appear, or the filter altered word.

Also, there is a subscribed thread tab at the bottom right of my screen, if i reply to a thread in there, does it appear in the recent posts?

Also, why am I so bothered anyway??

to answer your last point fluff knows!

To answer the first point, the filter relys one a list of words, this list is not complete yet so some words will get through, if you see any that really should be filtered but are not then inform the Ed and they will get added to the list and will be filtered. some words are changed to less offensive ones (like fluff) and some are simply stared out, to be fair it would be a huge task to think up a suitable replacement word for every single swear word, so only the more common ones will be replaced by other words.
There was certainly one that slipped through last night.... naming no know names.
oh and to answer your question about how it shows in your profile, excuse me I will check

Fluff of you Lady Veg

(I really hope that ^ did get filtered!!)
it shows the filtered version in your profile (as I expected it would)
Thanks Chuck!

Dot, you'll see it in action over the weekend I am sure!

All the best,

Spare Ed

Is that the same as a Lady Garden? I'm confused.
