Muslim Plot To Kill Pope
6 Answers
Saturday's Daily Express front page headline: Muslim Plot To Kill Pope. Today's Sunday Mirror claims the plot was 'just a joke' they made in the staff canteen about 'blowing him up with a rocket-propelled grenade.' Even if this isn't just a feeble explanation/excuse...hilarious, huh? The six men concerned have been arrested, but what has been the general reaction from the non-Muslim world? Well, not much more than a few tut-tuts basically. Had this been the other way round, even it was just a case of a few jokey remarks being overheard about a plot to kill the head of the Islamic faith, how do you think Muslims would have reacted? If their past behaviour is anything to go by, World War 3 would have practically erupted. Lessons for them to learn here, don't you think? And surely it starts with educating reason and balance in their young. Is this another good reason why Islamic schools in the UK should be closed down and their pupils made to integrate with all other schools here?

But since you ask, the reaction from the non-Muslim world was to arrest them all over chat in a canteen, wasn't it? Sounds like massive overreaction to me.
