On the Oncology childrens cancer ward i work on, a little girl of five who has lost hair through treatment asked how she was coping.
She thought about it and said "the best thing about my chemo is i dont have hair and my nits have all gone so i dont itch anymore "
as they say out of the mouths of babes !!!!!!
if she can face the world with a smile then so can you :0) have good day all x

Little ones are so brave.
Oohh zz, it's not fair that babes have nasty, nasty, nasty illnesses. Hope the chemo does the trick for the wee one

You're right tho, we can all moan but can stop when we think there's always someone worse off. xx

I know xx
I admire you, zzxxee, for working with the kids with cancer - I couldn't do that as it would break my heart. When my stepdad was in Killingbeck Hospital in Leeds after having surgery to remove a lung, i saw the kids on the opposite ward with their drips on the stands playing games. My kids were only 9 + 6 and I thought then how lucky I was to have healthy kids.
awe bless her :-) I'm sure she's happy until you turn up zzxxee!

...I'm sure you make her feel comfortable and happy when you do.

again bless her.
Thats soo sweet zzxxee, thanks for sharing that it certainly makes one think before we have our morning moan. Give her a hug from me.

That makes me feel bad when Im having a moan about nithing. I will remember her and my thoughts are with her. God bless xx
Well done to you too zzxxee
Its amazing how these children cope when faced with something like this. positive attitude can do wonders and i hope all goes well for her. x
somehow getting into work and finding a pair of knickers on my desk doesn;t seem so bad
i had a project not long back developing a new facility for the teenage cancer trust and a childrens dialysis ward. it was the most depressing yet inspiring time for me, in equal measure.

i only had to dip in and out, and even managed to squeeze out some christmas treats for the staff/children from my scroungey boss. i do admire the people who work in this environment day in day out, and the spirit of the children at their lowest ebbs.
Does 4get live round your way, fluffy............?
I hear she's a little careless with her knickers ! ;o)
culprit has been found and shamed
Thanks for that, my day doesn't feel so bad now. I hope she has good news soon.
zzxxee you are so brave. I cried just reading your thread, so what I would be like working in the same environment as you do I do not know. Poor little sweetie. I hope she recovers, and all the other children who are ill.
I'm not having a good day - just heard this morning Mr. Den's work friend's son is losing his fight with cancer, all his organs are shutting down - he is 22. Have known him since he was born, he is their only child.

Bless that little girl, zzxxe.
