Hey folks,

Am looking to travel from Rome to Sorrento, Is it possible to do this by train? If so, can anybody give me any details?, also I'll be flying in from Dublin - Ryanair fly to Rome Ciampino, whilst Aer Lingus fly into Rome Fiumicino. Which of these would be better were I to be able to get the train to Sorrento from Rome?

Thanks all.

well there is a train station in Sorrento but not sure if it goes to Rome .will do some checking

looks like you will have to change trains at Naples for onward journey to Sorrento. The main station in Rome is the place to get train to Sorrento.Wonderful place Sorrento ,do not forget to do the Amalfi coast run by bus(sit on opposite side of bus to the driver, thats the left as you get on ,for the best views of the coast)

(bus station at the train station in Sorrento)

anyway just search google for train travel from Rome to Sorrento

Thanks Avenches, that'll come in useful, however on this occassion we've had a change of plan. We are going to Rome for 3 days and then flying into Venice and taking a 7 day holiday in Lido Di Jesolo. Has anybody been to Lido? if so, any comments??

you can try the Marozzi bus from Roma tiburtina station at 3.00pm
