Ladies at Aintree (sorry, I mean women)
61 Answers
I have just seen the state of some of the women at Aintree today, all fake tans and tacky outfits. I suppose that's the price you pay for the race meeting being in Liverpool. Definately can't call them ladies!

These women might have the best personalities in the world, however that wasn't what was being questioned. What was being questioned was the fact that the vast majority of the ladies pictures i saw in the paper at this event were fat, yet thought inflicting that blubber on the rest of the populace was somehow attractive- it's not, it looks revolting and somehow, somewhere deep inside, they must know that.
And yes, i know, im not perfect either, i could do with losing some (alot) of weight, i dont however insist on showing my flab to everyone else.

To be fair to Liverpool, I bet at least 2 of them were from Wigan, I spent 6 years having to supply the footwear for dozens of these ladies each Grand National meet. It was a real moneyspinner for the fashion trade and entire shop windows and floor space is dedicated to 'Race Day'. It's tough having to tell these women how fabulous they look : (
I still don't believe Boo that them looking a f3cking mess makes them less of a lady and actually there isn't a question if you look at the OP, it's just a rude rant about other people's appearances. To be honest the only threads that seem to attract any real attention are the ones that *** off or insult other people, and it's negative to say the least. what I think about the way they look I'd keep to myself if it wasn't pleasent but that's just me.

I have a certain amount of sympathy for your above statement, but that is not the way the world works, by and large.
If you have a fat @rse, big t1ts, fat gut, then one doesnt usually court the attention of photographers and if you do, then you must suffer the consequences of adverse comments.

Yes, it depends upon one´s definition of ladies!

I'm not necessarily appalled at their size , more appalled at their lack of understanding of their ourward appearance, there is no need for so much flesh, especially in early April. The dress manufacturers cater for the racing season with this type of mass produced cheap garment and sell it for £80 +, then the fascinator is anything from £10 - £20 quid, throw in shoes and matching bag for £60 and £40 and you have not necessarily got a cheap outfit. It looks awful on the wrong person possessing no sense of colour coordication and no sense of how to wear a posh frock. Yes Gok would help but so would these girls if they just stopped and thouight about it more.

most of it is a case of normal everyday women getting it horribly wrong. These 'Ladies Days' used to be exclusively attended by the upper middle classes and beyond.
With the breakdown in social classes everyone 'wants a piece of the pie' and unfortuantely they're not very good at pulling it off. They should stay true to who they are. They're attempting to mimic what they beleive is posh and hitting way off mark.

They look no worse than any group of ladies at a hen do. Hen do's seem to bring out the worse in girls in my honest opinion. Loads of ladies together all trying to see who can be the most outragious. However, there is nothing to indicate with these ladies to say that they didn't behave like ladies. Yes, they are for the most part fat but so are a large proportion of the population. It doesn't mean they are 'swamp donkeys' etc. etc.
I actually very much agree with Booldawg.
(And I have seen some dreadful outfits on the young 'society' women on such occasions - well I have seen them in the press - I can't think of anything worse than going to the races, let alone a Ladies Day. I can't bear dressing up!!)
