Micheal Howard and gay issues
After reading endlessly about Micheal Howard and how he's going for the moral majority vote, I was wondering if he'd mentioned anything about gay rights.
The papers have been writing about what he's said on issues such as gypsies and abortion but I don't think I've seen any mention of gay civil partnerships, etc.. Has Howard said anything about these issues?
I would presume if he was trying to swing the moral majority then gays would be at the top of his hitlist but so far I haven't seen it mentioned at all. Did I miss something?

But if you can't wait i'd advise you to phone the daily mail or the super soaraway sun, say you saw two males cannodling in broad daylight, scared your little lad and your outraged, and how you complained to the ghastly leftie labour council and they laughed at you, thats bound to lead to another populist rant from the voice of compassion richard little john... the daily mail will then launch one of its daily moral decay of britain campaigns, which itv, the bbc and sky will take up and use on their tv news bulletins... and hey presto michael howard will suddenly make a high minded speech in front of a media only invited audience.. promising tough measures to protect our "hard working morally correct families" [especially the ones in marginal seats.} from being corrupted by the filth and gay depravity that has been allowed to seep in our society since 1997.
That should mean a good 4 point bounce in the polls..
he'll then go and watch a episode of trisha.
Howard has also backtracked recently on a statement he made a few years back saying that it would not be right to have a gay prime minister (interview with gay times which was frontpage news in last weekend's papers). This makes me think he has realised it isnot an issue to contest and is just going to keep quiet (for a change) and not make his feelings known.
Anyway, the Tories can win over everyone they would with homophobic policies, and more, with the anti-traveller policies. handy, eh!
Agree... but where would some people be without some group to blame...
Theres loads of gay people in all political parties btw, including the tories...
I'm as straight as a dye, but it matters not a jot to me what some guy/girls sexuality is, and as for gay marriages.. if two people want to do this and it makes them happy, leave them alone to do it i say..
This is 2005, not 1955.
