Why should anyone be afraid to raise certain issues?

At last the BBC admits it was Left-Wing bias.
It would appear that they were afraid of raising 'sensitive issues'.

It's fair to say the liberal left is a much friendlier, welcoming, happier place to be - hence why they're calling it the comfort zone. Such right wing views can alienate people and as the BBC are in the business of attracting the highest number of viewers possible, it would serve better not to be overly provocative.
I'm not saying that's the correct approach, I'm just saying that's how I'd see their reasoning. I personally think it's healthy to hear all side of the argument.

Personally I was concerned about their "have your say" section where they claim if you stick to the house rules all is well. And you see deleted posts and wonder how awful that person must be to get a post deleted. Until you discover they've made the ludicrous claim that yours was also deleted because it broke the house rules, when you know full well it didn't. I concluded that the admin simply deleted any that they disagreed with and which were too convincing to be allowed to stay.

I can tolerate, welcome, even, people who would class themselves to be 'on the right'.
I don't doubt that there are serious grown-up discussions to be had on *all* of the topics you mention........
However, it is the relentless finger-pointing at all minorities; the blaming of the ills of society on those most marginalised by that society and the general unpleasantness with which you seek to imbue your threads, that rankles with most, I think, AOG.

This is a ludicrous spin, even by Daily Mail standards, on a fairly unexciting revelation.
The problem the BBC often has is not that it is "left wing" or "right wing" but that it is paranoid about appearing either. Sometimes this means that it avoids issues at times or treads too delicately. The BBC upset Palestinian campaigners a few years ago by refusing to run an appeal for Gaza, for fear that the usual suspects would claim it was a bunch of anarcho-Muslim fundamentalists. I suspect the Daily Mail didn't kick up a fuss about that at the time. In fact the Daily Mail accusing the BBC of bias is a foul hypocrisy.

It is not relentless, it only appears to be by some who are not accustomed to having certain groups and issues criticised,and highlighted when the need arises.
The British media dares not, The Police dares not, The Establishment dares not, and most of the 'silent majority' dares not, for fear of being 'pigeon holed' named.
It is only on blog sites such as this that one can air these sensitive issues, providing of course no rules are broken.

whatever you think of the right you don't see them wishing death on lady pensioners who dare to expose their flawed marxists ideolgy.
