At the start of this film - when Jason goes into the bank in Zurich - and uses the numbered account - then takes everything - money passports etc in the red back from the dust bin - when then is he suddenly suspicious? i dont understand.

if this is his account, which he apparently accessed 3 weeks ago anyway - why then does everybody sudenly get suspicious and start chasing him? whats the problem?! its his money, he didnt have a bag, so he used that - so what?

why is it an issue?

As I recall, he'd just duffed up two policeman who tried to stop him sleepingo park bench, then got identified as a wanted thig and followed by another in the street. I may be thinking of another Bourne film. I keep meaning to read the books, I bet they're so much better, and easier to go back oe a twist that isn't altogether clear at first viewing.
whit the bluzes has apped to my typig?
Relying on a pretty shaky memory here - didn't someone from the bank make a phone call while he was in the booth?

true - he was sleeping on a bench when he knocked out two people - maybe those cops alerted someone - but then no one stopped him going into the bank - and no one stopped him getting out the gear from the saftey deposit - why not just get security to stop him when he was at the safe?
I think the authorities would have waited to see if he had the passwords to access the safety deposit box, That would provide proof that he was Bourne, and they could then move in to pick him up - as they attempted.
it was only when he left the bank that he started to get paranoid - just after 'rediscovering' that he had six identities, let alone the one he was trying to remember.

so when he went out, he was paranoid holding his duffle bag after leaving the bank, he started seeing lots of cops, the woman woith the radio - he thought they were closing in on him. only then did he raise suspicions, because he looked and behaved dodgey and scarpered.
It is not a good idea to examine the plots of many films to closely as they depend on a little 'suspension of reality'. Just sit back and enjoy.

I personally preferred Supremacy and Ultimatum.
He is distressed because he doesn't know who he is nor understand why he has multiple ids.

He is chased by police because of the assault in the park and in the embassy because a bank employee tips off the US security services who were waiting for him to reappear on 'the grid'.
The things I do for AB!

This film is well overdue a re-watch so I dusted off the DVD and can confirm the chase is due to the CIA having 'someone on the inside' in th bank who was primed to call them as soon as Bourne came in to open his security box.

In the scene right after where Jason meets the girl in the side alley with her mini it cuts to Langley where the 2 CIA bosses explain this.
Eye thenk yaouuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please imagine an image of Mr Hughes standing and accepting an imaginary burst of spontaneous applause from his felllow AB'ers).
Mosaic, the books are very different from the film, he's much older in the books, the 2 later films are unrecognisable. I suppose they had to update the technology for the films otherwise they would have been very dated. Does anyone like the later books, written after Ludlum died?
