An American christian organisation 'thanked god' for the death of Christopher Hitchens. A fine example of 'christian values' Still no one could accuse them of hypocrisy.

No. I agree. They're a load of right ****s, but not hypocrites.
<<no one could accuse them of hypocrisy. >>

No, just perverted and ugly ideas and a lack of basic morality.
why would what one organisation said (you don't name it or give a link) be an example of what all Christians say? *Have* other Christians said it?
Without knowing any of the facts all I can say is - we are all going to die at some point so why is this guy's death one to be celebrated?
Who said 'all' jno.

that is your reading.

the organisation in question is christian and presumably subscribes to 'christian values' (whatever they are?) so the headline is correct in describing them so.

jno, this item came up on sky news, no more details were given. I was not attributing this attitde to all christians, in fact I would imagine that most christians would be as sad at his death as anyone else's. What I was highlighting was that there are some mean people posing as christians, whilst ignoring the generally accepted christian philosophy.
delete "all" then, and make my question: why is it a "fine" example? It does not in fact appear to be an example of Christian values at all.
Question Author
err...irony jno?
if a Christian said it was a fine example of Christian values, I would assume it was irony. If a militant atheist said it, I would assume it was not.
Question Author
jno.. when a 'militant' atheist uses irony you may assume whatever you wish. I do not see myself as 'militant' just a rebutter of bull$hit.
I see nothing amiss in the question. It seems to me to be a very fine example of that organisation's Christian values - dubious as they obviously are.
wasn't it just someones tweet ?
yes, a perfect example of 'honesty'!
it was the same gang that tweeted requesting people pray for george michaels death.
i wouldnt give them any airtime or even breathing space.

ok maybe a little bit of breathing space inside a tied up plastic bag.
The examples I have found come from the Westboro Baptist Church......which doesn't seem to represent the views of *anyone* even moderately sane....:o/

^Anyone got any links?
Jom, google Westboro Baptist Church. I don't want to paste a link on here. They're absolutely disgusting.
Is this the moustachioed guy who wanted to burn the Koran?
Boxy, I think you're talking about the 'Rev' Terry Jones. He's with a different outfit, and I believe decided against burning the Koran. However, the Westboro bunch burned one along with the American flag.
