No. Santa Claus is at least based on a real person, St.Nicholas, from the 3rd century who used to secretly leave coins in shoes left out for him and maybe presents. He died on 6th December at which date this saint is celebrated in the Netherlands, and is helped by moor(s) called black Pete. He is believe to also admonish naughty children. Eventually the celebration in America moved closer to Christmas and took on a somewhat Christian flavour, spreading to most of the western world.

God, on the other hand is a complete fabrication to compensate for the lack of comprehension of evolution.
Of course not! He doesn't bring presents =)
does he wear a red suit and come down chimneys too.
<God, on the other hand is a complete fabrication to compensate for the lack of comprehension of evolution.>
Why do so many people think that, regarding God/Evolution, it has to be one or the other? God is omnipotent, omnipresent etc. When he created life, he did not just plonk Adam onto the Earth. That would be far too simplistic for Him. He made the 'soup' of life, then watched and waited.
So, didn't this All-knowing One even realise how it was all going to pan out?
Anyone who believes in God hasn't really grown up.
Just wait till Elderman sees this , he'll have a field day.
yeah, the similarities like the big beard. i dont really know if gods fat, or if he climbs down chimmneys, or if he eats mince pies or if he even has a beard. so i dont think so.
I never liked or agreed with that comparison. It does Santa a disservice.
Which god are we referring to here? there are so many
The one true God of course.
Yikes!

And I agree,
//Poor kids.//
At least Santa doesn't threaten non-believers with eternal damnation . . . I don't think?
I believe mibs has become the present day God, so he is invisible to mere mortals.
Wildwood, I believe the ability to speak (for better or worse) on my own behalf, disqualifies your accusation.
Only the true messiah would deny his divinity.
