3 Mother's Day cards, 2 Nan cards, I'm working all day but I have given fair notice. What are your expectations and how prepared are you for disapointment?

I've 2 sons. so it's 50/50 :-)

Younger one moved out last year on Mother's Day so that was pretty heart-breaking. However, he returned a few months later.

They do that don't they? It's probabl because they couldn't actually master the Yo Yo when they were little.

I'm expecting loads more whinging customers today moaning about the prices of Mother's Day cards, like I've said most other years, think yourself lucky you need to buy one!
Well said!! (About the think yourself lucky you need to buy one)

I've not bought them for many a year due to both mine and Mr Alba's mum's passing. I buy the Father's Day card for him for his dad, that hurts even after 19 years of not buying one for my dad.
its just another money making racket imo
My mum walked out on mothers day, to return at midnight and well, I won't go into the rest of it but needless to say she shouldn't really be expecting much from her kids in Sunday.

But I will be looking to see if I can find a card to give to my big sister who is better than any mum I could ask for.
i am exspecting nothing as my husband relies on my sister t get my daughters one for him, he allways remembers t ring his mum but forgets my card :(
My sister and I have decided to go on strike.
I am 'expecting' nothing. I have two wonderful daughters who make everyday mother's day for me and that's enough. They have been told not to buy into the pressure.

Like pdust says it's nothing but a money making racket for the gift industry, a hallmark holiday. Load of bo!!ox.
Disappointment cos I'd forgotten it was Mother's Day, and I've arranged to go and see the BF.

I'm sure Mums will understand !!

You keep telling yourself that jj ;-)
oh god !
i dont even know when mothers day is
Told my lot a card will do, by the time the shopping is done, the dog walked and the mountain of washing done, plus the visiting of both of our mums, sort of run out of time for my lot to visit, some of which also have to visit other halves mums. Or I could just tell them I've moved my mothers day to the following Sunday, now there's an idea.
card for mine plus flowers...never had children of my own so when mum dies it will be ignored forever after
I will expect nothing at all and secretly hope to be surprised by rich gifts.
Took wife and children wifes mother to well known restraunt (eating house cant spell )Meal came to about 80quid They were giving out little cheap pansy like flowers in a pot to mothers .Was told we did not qualify as we had not booked .Know summit we did not book the following year either or the next or the ....
Oh by the way wifes mother said it was the worst 80 quid ever she spent
I am expecting to be taken out for lunch at a local hostelry which has a play area out the back where the grandchildren can run around. Think other daughter is doing a boot sale on Sunday but she lives near me and we go out at least once a week as it is. For sure she will have give me a card and a gift cos thats how she is. : o )
lol weecalf
I have two useless children so not expecting a thing.. no longer have my own mother so it's just 'Sunday' in this house...
