Signed Beatles album?
22 Answers
I bought a Beatles album in a charity shop and I've noticed that on the back there are the names George, Paul and Ringo and To someone's name. It is only the the first name of the band.I'm assuming that they are forged but what are the chances they are real?

Thanks, I sent an email, why not. However after looking through some websites I still assume they are forged. Although the George and Paul names look similar to some in the websites, I did not see any that looked similar to the Ringo signature on my album.
Just in case there are any experts out there, here is a pic of autographs....

Why not try frasers autographs? They authenticate if they are interested in (And i am sure they would be in the Beatles or the Who) .
They are in London but if you cant get there you can send a scan & if they are interested they will ask you to send the cover in & if they want it they will offer on it.
See their web site for detailed instructions on what to do.
Worth a go, nothing to loose.

The hand they're written in looks at first sight to be a teenager writing in their "best" hand, and not anything remotely like the authenticated signatures such as http://www.beatlesautographs.net/
some letters do look somewhat similar, such as the G's and the P and the R... but they are not the same, - things like angles, lengths, loop shape etc are what makes them by the same hand, not the overall shape - as they are very common.
also would they have only signed their first names?
id have expected a full name at least
although, if forged, surely theyd have added a john too... so that seems odd - like it coul dbe that the person only managed to get the other 3...john left early or something...?
you may as well get it checked out - lets face it no-one here really knows so dont take our word for it...

The album is Please Please Me and I did look it up a few nights ago. Judging by what I read it was the second print, between the years 1963-1965. But it is not in great condition and I haven't actually tried playing it yet, although I intend to.
I also got other LPs on the same day, Bob Dylan Greatest Hits, Jethro Tull Stand Up, which has a cool pop-up cover, Status Quo-Tations, Led Zepplin's first album. Some really cool stuff.
