Question for golfers. Should this be in the rules of etiquette?
4 Answers
On the green, if a fellow player asks you to mark your ball because it's on his line, should he remind you to replace it on the correct spot? This happenend to me and I forgot to replace it in the original position, holed out, then when we got on the next tee, he asked if I'd replaced my ball. I hadn't, so incurred a two shot penalty. Gamesmanship if ever I saw it, which was so annoying, but I know it was my responsibility to play the ball from the correct position. However, he asked me to move it, so I say he should have reminded me to replace it, out of etiquette. If I had asked him did he want me to move my ball, that would have been different. What do you golfers think?
