I'm not taking the pee here, I'm just asking whether or not you believe that humans will have contact with extraterrestrials in your lifetime?

Surely this law is half-baked?

If they come to us they will either kill us or be killed or bring viruses that will kill us all! Of course not,America will save the planet as they do in all the sci-fi films.

I think on the balance of probabilities she thinks it unlikely we will contact an alien species. More interesting was her comment that there might be "as many as 4" intelligent species in our galaxy - seems a bit on the low side, to me......

I had a thought that maybe we all live in a viscous environment that we've just learned to accept and don't even see it anymore. And that's what dark matter is.

Flob, I don't think that's what dark matter is - but I've said it before and I'll say it again - you have some very thought provoking ideas.

You have to be optimistic.....All things are possible and even now we are getting closer and closer to science fiction. I think we will find some basic form of life somewhere in our own Solar System within the next decade or so.
Having seen a UFO- (unreported)I certainly would not rule out past or present visitation. We may well be living in a multiverse!

Thanks Naomi. But that's enough, the last thing we want is me getting all high and mightyish lol. It could also be that all these astrophysicists aren't all they are cracked up to be and somebody just forgot to carry the 1 across now and again.

So far as SF counts at all; only the 'Stargate' portal or parallel universes offer up any opportunities for encounters.

Even Star Trek's Warp drive would take years to get anywhere.
