I know that Muslims only make up around 2-3% of the UKs population but how does that percentage compare with regular worship in the UK.

Not a million miles away from where I live they hold an Islamic festival each year which attracts around 50,000 Muslims over the weekend. I doubt if theres a gathering of any religious denomination in the UK that would attract such numbers.

People may put down Christian on census form which fudges the figures somewhat, but as a practised religion is Islam the UKs largest?

Thank God my children were not educated by a bigoted teacher such as Mike.
Population or number and practising are two different things. But that is common sense so might be difficult for few.
Keyplus, I suggest you check the numbers out for yourself - unless you'd rather carry on kidding yourself.

I suspect rthat eligion is practiced most where there is poverty and poor education.
.................and judging by my appalling typos I must be quite erligious?
^^ And that's without a glass of wine! Hic! Cheers! :o)
I would suspect Islam is the most widely practised because they pray five times a day as well as their attendence in the Mosque especially on Fridays. It is also a part of their lives rather than an extra for most Christians. There is another factor the attendance at a Mosque is largely restricted to men but women still pray at home. In the UK about 10% of all the population regularly attend a place of worship and that includes all religions but practising a religion is another matter. That can happen outside a place of worship look at the RCs and the orthodox churches they cross themselves frequently .
Interesting stats from Eddie - about the same percentage as ex military in UK prisons...does this suggest that all ex military cooped up are Muslims?

I believe the stunning success and legacy of the Welsh goat, Rowan Williams, is to reduce the weekly church-going population to just under 2% of the population.

Thank you, Rowan, for your wonderful leadership and you thoroughly deserve your appointment of Magdalene, Cambridge. One more of Tony's brilliant recommendations of the destruction of UK society - treason perhaps?

"look at the RCs and the orthodox churches they cross themselves frequently ."

Hardly indicative of practising a religion and more of the habits of ritualised superstition.
