I notice some Scots type on the internet type in their dialect eg; using 'nae' for no etc etc.

Maybe everyone should start typing in their own dialect to stamp their own provincial individuality on every thread.

of course you'll notice I'm from the south and this is how words appear in the manner of correct pronunciation.

Thanks for the laugh baldric I nearly choked on my coffee,but you are so right and that includes my own gaffs in the past.
I quite like reading CorbyLoon's posts, I think he (she?) writes in a scottish dialect and when I read it in my head I like to think I sound scottish... which is an impressive feat for someone born and bred in south london who is useless at accents.

I quite like people using their dialects. It makes language richer somehow. And it doesn't take too much thought to work out that nae means not/no.

(But I'll never forget falling about in hysterics when I bought a torch in Woollies in St Andrews and was asked, 'Do you need a battery, hen?')
