For Sale: 1 Virgin, $780,000 ono....

I find myself disapproving of the concept and the participants in this story, but I am finding it difficult to articulate exactly what it is that annoys me :)
Quite apart from the eye-wateringly large sum of money that some perv seems willing to pay for the "privilege" of taking this girls virginity, it says something interesting about the wilingness of people to debase themselves for money, or fame/celebrity.
This article represents a perfect storm of things I disapprove of :) Must be getting old....

Wonder, too, if they are really virgins - there are not many about nowadays. And supposing the man who has bought the girl's virginity is really yucky and you would not normally touch him with a bargepole. She has to go through with it come what may. And would any other man really want her afterwards unless they are also perverts. It is prostitution at its worst, in my opinion, but then I am very old and come from a different era. Same applies to the young man.
I suppose it might be a way of paying your way through college or buying your first home... as the article says probably better than giving it away for free especially when it is rarely the wonderful experience it ought to be. Someone paying for the privilege may well treat the 'transaction' with a little more respect... I know she says it will be going to charity... I hope she doesn't live to regret that decision...
Lazygun...........virgins are a rarity and this is reflected in the price......nothing special there then........
Most woman ( in my experience) do not enjoy their first taste of penetrative sex with an intact hymen..........so why not accept some monetary compensation for the pain.........$780,000 seems a better deal than 600mgms of Ibuprofen.

@Sqad - No disagreement re the logic - its the willingness to transactionalise the issue and objectify it that I find so distasteful. Probably is some atavistic throwback to an outdated notion of romance :)
There is a kind of persistent dislike of the morality of the thing for want of a better word that i find so repellant. For me it has echoes of the stories of young girls having their virginity traded to men who viewed them as a means of avoiding the risk of HIV in Africa, for instance.
And, old romantic that I am , I do not really get the concept of paying for sex @_

Ity is a simple concept really and has really "caught on" in the past few decades.........one gets sexually satisfaction from which you walk away with no "hang ups"....no phone calls.....no "I love yous" and providing that you don't insert. no STD's.
Massage Parlours, Dating Agencies and Prostitution is a growth industry.....and growth industries only grow when there is a demand to satisfy.

I personally think good luck to the savvy young lady. What disquiets some people about this is that she is a young woman who is very clearly in control of her own body and destiny, comfortable with her sexuality and with making her own choices despite other people's negative opinions of her, something which some men and women find extremely disquieting as a lot of people do with career prostitutes who are that by choice and not by coercion / necessity.
I personally think it's perfectly fine and don't disapprove of it at all if that's what she wants to do.
