Well, whilst on my travels today popped in to a Morrisons with the OH and, as usual, she did the house shop and I went my own way.

Got to the DVD section and decided to purchase one, so I went to the Self Service section and paid and then went and sat i the car waiting for Her Majesty.

Got home tonight and only then realized that I have bought home an empty case. I should have gone to Customer Services to get my DVD. What a plonker!

SO do I have to go the 15 miles back to the original Morrisons or do you think the more local one might take pity on an old barsteward like me if they realise that I Have paid in one store and taking their stock ?

Why don't you phone the store you bought it in (the number should be on the top of your receipt), explain what happened and ask them if you can take it to another store. If they say yes, take the name of the person you speak to and go along to your local store. That's what I would do anyway.
The thing is how do you prove that they didn't give it to you when you paid for it, or can you prove you haven't left it in your CD player in your car?
silly billy !
When you buy a DVD or game from Morrisons they squiggle on your receipt to say you have received it.
they can prove he has the case without the disc because the disc will be sitting in their drawer with no matching case........even if they have to do a stick check they will still find they have one disc too many.
Stick check?

The case does have a sticker saying 'Display Case' on it so I hope there will be no problem other than you go through once ,pay and get it. Then go back just pick up a case and show your receipt and get another one free.

If they do sign the receipt as sharradk says then that knocks that out.

(AYG its a DVD not a CD 8-))
(Dotty the empty case does not have a number on it referring to an envelope or similar. They just have unopened boxes at Customer Services as far as I recall now)
I did something similar last year. Bought a bottle of gin and paid via the self-service till. Got home on a very wet night only to find that the security cap was still on and I couldn't open the bottle.
What was the title of the DVD?
