Any suggestions to solve this problem would be appreciated.

I am trying to write a book using the "Book" option in Family Tree Maker 2010. I want to insert images into this book (images of census returns and birth certificates etc) that I have downloaded from the web.

Some images perform as they should - others I am having problems with.

I THINK the ones I am having problems with have downloaded as .pdfs. FTM doesn't like .pdfs so I have been using PDF X-Change viewer to export these files to either .tiff or .jpeg. These converted files appear in FTM as absolutely tiny and it is impossible to enlarge them.

I don't know that this IS the problem, but its my best guess (ie since I started using PDF X-Change viewer as my default download thing - previous files seem OK).

Is there another way to convert .pdfs to .jpegs or .tiffs so that the images I import are at least legible?

I'm having a complete mare with this so any suggestions would help.

Am running Windows 7 and Firefox if that is relevant.

TIA

Load the PDF so you can see it on your screen and then try using the snipping tool to "snip" the picture and then save it as a JPG (Start > all programs > Accessories to find the snipping tool)

The problem may be with FTM or PDF X-Change.

Can you view them in a different program, such as (if they are jpegs) Paint or your browser?
