After bleating for ages about Hodgson overlooking him for 'footballing reasons', Ferdinand is selected again and promptly withdraws from the squad stating he wasn't given enough notice......

......but he's still making himself available for England in the future!

In other words he doesn't want to play in Mickey Mouse qualifiers but wants to when we reach the World Cup finals

Another example of the pathetic attitude we've come to expect from the man who 'forgot' to take a drugs test and went shopping instead

Didn't realise you knew him and his circumstances so well joeluke.

Ferdinand is 1st class Salads Chef

I'm Gutted I had to pull out of england squad, but it was the right decision for my intricate pre-planned programme.

What The Funicular ?
Hasn't he been threatened not to play by 'The Hairdryer'?
Also a bit tired after the First Direction concert he went to at the w/end.
I have withdrawn from the England Squad due to a pre-planned training and medical programme that I must follow.

It was important for me to be able to speak with Roy face to face and explain the situation, and one thing I made clear was that my passion and commitment to represent my country is as strong as ever.

It is disappointing that I won't be able to play a part in the upcoming games but I told Roy that I want to continue to be available for England and I look forward to working with him in the future.
Damned if you do, damned if don't. I for one am pleased he's pulled out whatever the reason (excuse).
So if Woy is okay with it what is the problem?
He's five years past his best. When are we going to learn it is time to move on?
If I had been Rio I would have told them to stick their england cap where the sun dont shine

Hodgson should be looking forward not back

Ferdinand was once a top centre half but he's well past his best now

If the England defence is to rely on a past-it crock then we've got even less chance of winning the World Cup than I thought

So true joeluke. It's amazing how quickly people forget the last world cup and how poor our aged team was.
If he wasn't finished before this ...................he's finished now!

Maybe he's waiting for the next squad his good friends Terry and Cole are not picked for before deciding to honour our national team with his presence again?
Isn't criticising Rio Ferdinand racist ?
I don't think 'arrogant', 'self obsessed' and 'over the hill' fall under the banner of racism.
