What a shame that Philip Hammond, Member of Parliament for Runnymede and Weybridge, Secretary of State for Defence, can hardly raise his head to say hello to a fellow dog walker in the woods at Ockham Mill today. That's MPs for you.

He seemed to find it difficult to reply to our "Good morning" greeting as we passed him on a lovely sunny Sunday morning, he looked very familiar to both of us and I never forget a face. He mumbled "Morning" looking like he was sucking on a lemon. Googled him when I got home, defo him. Why can't people just reply with a nice smile, it doesn't cost anything.

What more did you expect. He was out for a quiet private walk , he didn't want to get involved with every Tom Dick and Harry who chose to engage him in conversation. The very fact you Googled him shows you wanted more than a quick hello. //That's MPs for you.// No it's not just MPs . Anyone who has contact with the general public knows the problem. Even doctors and teachers avoid living in the area they practice in.

I don't like it when random people speak to me when I'm out and about; I know that others say it's just people being nice but personally I find it intrusive and irritating.

I don't think it's strange at all. I just very much dislike having to talk to anyone when I'm out and about minding my own buisiness. I used to hate it when walking the my partners mums dog and people would just start talking to you because they recognised the dog! I find having to make small talk for half a mile with someone I don't know and am unlikely to see again is tedious. I should point out I'm not impolite if someone does talk to me, I generaly recipricate, I just think it's completely unnecessary and would rather people didn't.

Thank you mikey !! All I was doing was smiling and saying hello as other dog walkers passed by, what's wrong with that? The last thing I want to do is have a conversation with a stranger, its just that I recognised his face. Miserable s@d.
