i have block paved my front driveway so has my neighbour and drivers think its perfectly fine to turn around on my drive now when it was grassed they wudnt dream of driving up on it to turn around so why do they think its ok to turn on it cos its paved , i wud never dream of turning my car around on someones drive i think its very bad manners and cheeky it realy annoys me when ppl do it i stand in my window and glare at them lol i wish i had a button that i cud press and spikes would pop up and burst their tyres does anyone else get annoyed by this by the way theres a rd next to my house that they cud use !

How about if you had a wall built between your two driveways? That would make it smaller, though may not be practical.

do they actually have to go right up your driveway? I turn into others' driveways, and they turn into mine, but I've seldom needed to go more than a few inches past the pavement into the driveway itself.

Gates would help, but you'll look a bit like a fortress.

its a housing estate private im halfway down hill dunno wat the reason is taxis do it too laziness comes to mind as i said earlier there are rds futher down they cud turn it

heh taz- Ahh I can sort of see why they might see both you and your neighbours joined drives as an easy and roomy place to turn - but like Madmen asked - why are they feeling the need to turn at all? Do you live in a cul-de-sac? Is there something evil at the bottom of the road? Do you live on a Sat-Nav rat run?

I think we deserve to be told :)

And I reckon a good old glare and maybe a klaxon would do the trick..

One doesn't have an automatic right to use another person's drive, but if all they use is the dropped kerb & pavement area it's difficult to get too uptight, as one would hope all neighbours were happy to help one another. If they are actually driving onto your property that is rather out of order though: and the nearby road does make it a bit of a cheek anyway.

Probably one of those things one is better off trying to not get peeved over though. It's not going to get better by feeling bad about it, that just messes you up inside.

Beware relying on gates. Where I live the parenting appears to be so bad that all generations seem to be unaware how to use them. They don't seem to have been taught. They seem to think a hole in the wall is the same thing as a gate, perhaps because one need two IQ points to rub together to work out it isn't. Or maybe the idea is that the "country code" must not be applied in rural areas.

pu a bin/cone there, and get out and move it when you want to use the drive.

This drives my father mad. He has double gates into the courtyard in front of his house and people have the cheek to drive in one gate and out the other to turn round.

Best thing I can suggest is a single post or a dividing fence/chain between you and next doors. Failing that but your wheelie bin there or park a car there.

You ought to live in my house. At the side of our drive is a side road which just leads to a church behind, and to the back of some terraced houses next door. We own this land, but we have to leave access for the people who live in the terraces, and for the church. There is room enough for one car (mine) but no more. The number of times I have come home from work to find someone parked on it! Ive taken to parking behind them so that they have to come to the house for me to let them out - and then they get told in no uncertain terms that it is private land. We even had to get onto the land registry for proof that we do actually own it because a builder working on one of the terraces kept leaving his bags of cement and what have you there so that no one could get past! ps I hope my punctuation is ok ;-)

I've got two drop down posts on the front of my drive to stop this problem - it was so bad my old drive broke up because of the heavy wagons turning on it.

I have a big wide drive entrance and people always turn there. I don't mind but what does annoy me is when they sit parked while they make phone calls
