Paedophile Dilemma
23 Answers
I have a dillemna. I have recently discovered that a self confessed paedophile lives in the next village. I had some misgivings about this man and googled his name. He came out of jail recently after being convicted of sexual offences against young boys and making indecent images whilst running a "child model agency" both in this country and in Spain. The police found 23,000 indecent images of children on his computer. He also served a 6 year term some years ago for the rape of a 12 year old boy. When he left jail his mother had died and he moved into her house, which he has now sold and intends to move back to Spain. He was required to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years. I read an article recently saying the a large amount of paedophiles go under the radar by moving abroad to reoffend. I am sure he intends to do this. Who do I contact about this? I have children and grandchildren and what this man seems to be doing has lost me sleep since I found out.

I say this because we hear enough stories of criminals coming to this country without their previous convictions being revealed.
It might be an idea just to make certain that the Spanish authorities are kept abreast of the situation.
Just a thought.

// I'd have hoped the authorities would already have rules on passing information across to the country such folk move to. //
Unfortunately 'the authorities' don't seem capable of preventing children being abused, tortured and murdered by their own parents when it's happening right in front of their eyes, so I wouldn't put much faith in them to do anything useful with any information you might give them.
I wouldn't do anything other than be vigilant and make sure any others are aware that need to be.
You'd better be damn sure of your facts though.

In my experience over here in Spain, well Ibiza at least, he will have a right to anonimity, they don't reveal them. We had a couple living in our village and didn't have a clue until one of the victims stabbed one of them at the bus stop and killed him, we were then supposed to pray for the paedo's soul in heaven, that's when I walked out of church. Then the other one was uncovered running a popular nighttime bar where we all drank, he left in a hurry. Oh there was a third one who ran a weird bar with caves and tunnels, but it was discovered that he was wanted in England for being a paedo and so they arrested him, he's due out this year. It's dreadful, especially when one likes their children to roam free in daylight hours.
