Okay, so in my French class their is this one boy that is constantly arguing with me. He is always trying to be better than me at everything in the class. The teacher will sometimes give me a compliment or something then he will disagree, but doesn't do this to anyone else... What does this mean? By the way, im 13.

It's a bit clumsy, and it can be annoying, and it quite often comes across all wrong.
