Surely if the Amish were involved with such goings on they wouldn't want it on TV. It's hardly the image that they usually portray.

sorry about that, all that stuff seemed to have jumped in, apologies.
Thanks emmie.
submitted too quickly, looks an interesting drama
Question Author
emmie, thanks for that, it throws a bit more light on it.

Naomi, The Amish Mafia is (apparently) a sub division of the Amish that does all the dirty work of the Amish, mob style using guns and threats to frighten off anybody that might stray from the path or may cast a shadow over the Amish or those that may interfere with their illegal profit making schemes.

I thought it was all a bit strange, sounds like it is pretty much all fake.

They also say there is no smoke without fire! I really dont know!
this is a drama though...

have you never heard of Murder Inc, if not look them up, they were real enough.

Here is a bit more about the show and what it is about.

I think it is disgusting that the good name of the Amish is run down like this, people believe this stuff, I nearly fell for it. I may not agree with the lifestyle of the Amish but as long as they are doing no harm...
Question Author
Thanks Naomi, Like I was thinking, it is all fiction, Im really disappointed that this programme is portrayed as a documentary and it gives the Amish a bad name they don't deserve.
I've never seen it - but it seems it's 'Hollywood' at its worst.
I can't believe the subject of this post...reminds me of the joke "what goes clip clop, clip clop, clip clop, BANG!, clip clop, clip clop....."

An Amish drive by shooting...
