Mm Links Results February 2014 Week 4

Well, it has been a close finish with players bunching up at the top of the leaderboard.

But more of that later.

First I must announce the chosen links of 'The Cat's Mother' which were:

WATER MAIN
MOONLIGHT
FLORAL DANCE
FRUIT SALAD

I did ponder a while before allowing a couple of those.

MOON was a link a while ago but I decided it was long enough for you all to have forgotten. Are you a goldfish or an elephant?

FLORAL DANCE was another matter because being related to English Folk Traditions it might have disadvantaged our non-English players. Even the Scots have heard of Terry Wogan and according to Wikipedia, the first person to record it was an Australian.

That meant that only our Canadian friends might be at a disadvantage and they were not near the top of the leaderboard. (Sorry Onty).

Two were found early on.

Strix was first with FLORAL DANCE and along with ulysses100, tearinghair, Christiana, evsajo, rockfordill, owllady & Aquagility, claimed 2 points. See how important early play can be in this game. Many singles were later claimed on this popular link.

9:02 and Tearinghair claimed FRUIT SALAD along with Christiana and Middlestump for their two points.

WATER MAIN had to wait until half past three in the afternoon until our frozen friends from across the pond (Mrs O) came along in need of a fresh supply. Well Onty. it makes up for not being able to guess 'Floral Dance'

The final link held out much longer - 11:07 pm in fact, when cliffyg looked out of hid window and noticed the MOONLIGHT.


With seven double-hitters, it was hard to choose a hotshot, but for being the only 'moonlighter' amongst our players, I declare
