OK, so I am not a right-on liberal luvvie and this sounds like luvvie speak so can someone explain the need to use words like this? And what exactly does it mean, or she mean? In plain English please.
it may be more common to use a term like 'drift apart' or 'grow apart'
the problems are suppressed and then there is a catalyst and a melt down of the relationship often accompanied by anger, resentment and a logistical mess.

They are getting a divorce...none more complicated than that. But considering she called her child "Apple" we should expect no more. Well, I suppose it could have been worse...it could have been Kumquat or Gooseberry !
