You Win £999 Billion Trillion - What Would You Do With It?
48 Answers
If you won a ridiculous amount of money - as above - what would you do with it?
Lets assume that -
we would all look after and help out our family and close friends,
we would all donate some i'm sure
we would all move to a bigger house, get a better car and generally just have things that cost more etc
and go on nicer holidays
These things are pretty much the basics and standard stuff really
but what else would you do with it?
start a collection of purple rolls royces?
sail the world in a gold plated yacht?
buy a country?
have a wedding on top of a mountain?
would you buy a huge well known company?
or start one from scratch - like batman?
put money into a massive marine biology expedition to find nessie?
clone people, and make loads of yourself?
collect rare first editions?
go to the moon?
buy the moon?! haha
basically you can do anything you want - and even if something is not currently possible, you could fund research to make it possible.
doesn't have to be anything weird or extravagant, just your dreams
i would definitely think about time travel ... and real travel
i would also fund research for doctors to be able to do skeleton transplants - i would like my whole skeleton replaced - either with real bone or a terminator type thing haha
cheers

I would buy several known big companies and open up branches in the poorest counties to help with employment for the poor.
I would take over all the sweatshops and clothing production companies in the far east and provide workers with decent working conditions and pay.
I would attempt to pay off all endangered animal poachers in Africa and India and wherever else there are poachers.
I would ensure that all schools in the UK have a breakfast club and make sure that every child has brekkie. No child should go hungry.
Give loads to children and animal charities and fund research into illness.
For myself, I would buy pad in Central London and a cottage in Cornwall and a plane.

Actually you'd struggle a bit because although the total wealth in the world is a bit hard to estimate (Jim's guess at $50trillion is as good as any, though I've heard amounts up to $200trillion quoted) it certainly is nothing like £900 billion trillion.
Unless there is to be money printing on an epic scale there would not be anywhere near enough money in the world to pay you your winnings. So you would bankrupt every other individual, company and nation on earth. In fact, if you received your winnings in £50 notes they would form a stack which would reach to the sun 13 million times (and most of them would get burnt when they got too close) or the nearest star 50 times. I've also worked out the approximate weight of the £50 notes but won't bore you with the answer (I must get out more!).
Best return to the more flippant answers we've had so far, I think :-)

Open a centre specificially for children who have been accutely or chronically sexually abused or victims of FGM; it would have the relevant doctors, social work practitioners, play therapists/specialists, clinical nurse specialist, pyschology/psychotherapy support and specialised admin all in one place; plus a place for the CAIT/Sapphire units to interview children. Perhaps even a walk in centre for children who have been victims of physical abuse to come to and have their injuries documented. Basically a specialist, private hospital almost (but that doesn't actually the patient anything).
