Have you been on one? If so which did you try? Me and OH are planning on going on one but there is so many to choose from. He quite fancies the real Mary kings close but if it's just limited to one place then I'd probably pass as I want something that has one than more location. I want to explore more of my capital city's darker side
We have been on one of the Mercat tours, it was at 6pm, all though some of them go later, it was dark , we went in October, and was quite interesting , and a little scary at times. The people that do it dress up and I liked the way it was all done.Dont go thinking you will actually see ghosts, but it is a good laugh , and who knows what is actually there.
My husband is from Bathgate, we visit at least once a year, there is so much to see and do around Edinburgh area, every time we come up , my list of stuff never gets any shorter. Have you visited the Gilmerton cove, I am told that is good,( another one on my list.)
It was great to find out more how people used to live, the size of the rooms, the stories behind the people that lived in the close, you got to go in some of the the rooms and get a feel of what it was like then. We found it really interesting, our guide was great.
We went cos someone else recommended it.
Lol, A tour of something that doesn't exist! its gotta be a winner!!
Im sure visiting the grande old building and listening to all the tales will be a great day.
I used to love touring Dartmoor and researching the myths and folklore of which Dartmoor thrives. Totally fascinating, mostly based on an original happening and then blown up into some amazing monster or fairy tale.
