Looks like money CAN buy you just about anything.
It can certainly spare you a jail term:

A piffling amount for the billionaire and I agree with the former German justice minister.

Yes, I agree, if accepted it's an embarrassment, especially since it's a bribery trial. The God of Irony must be on a roll today ;/
It seems unfair Chilli, but "horse trading" seems to be par for the course in law cases, so what is good for Joe Bloggs should also be good for the rich.
Agreed. One law for the rich.

BTW, I looked up Ecclestone on wikipedia. I was not aware of his back story. The son of a fisherman, worked as a lab assistant at the local gasworks, then made $4.6billion along the way.

All those billions and he can't get a decent haircut.
Gromit...interesting, i really hadn't thought a lot of him, but since reading your post and the link, he has gone up in my estimation.
Good on 'im
Actually, Prison might have given him that much-needed decent haircut ludwig ! Ghastly little man.
I am a bit of a confused thicko - does the money go into the German govt piggy bank? If so it isn't such a bad outcome. I don't know how he manages to find himself such tall and beautiful women to marry - there must be something about him that they found attractive.

Wolf, he's got a big ................ wallet.
// there must be something about him that they found attractive. //

He must have sparkling wit and a charming personality.

//Ghastly little man. //

Is he a member of UKIP then Mickey ;-)
ymb has it right...a very large wallet. Money can be a wondrous elixir of love apparently !

He appears to suffer from Short Man Syndrome. Noel Coward once remarked
.....never trust short men...brains too near their bottoms"
ymb...there are lots of ghastly people about and not all of them are UKIP Members you know !
