Last week there was a post re beggars being genuine.
Last night as I said before there is like a homeless guy who stands about in the offie (he never begs) and to my surprise he was getting a taxi. As I was getting back into my car his taxi drew up and it was one of the highest taxi ranks you get here in Belfast - I certainly never use them.
And funnily enough I was about to give him money but I had no more change so said to myself - next time. Now I am not too sure whether there will be a next time.

When I was 14 I cashed in my National Savings stamps to buy a new pen and had a few shillings left over. Outside the store was a man who played the accordian and had a collection box marked 'blind'. Feeling flush, and full of the milk of human kindness I put 6d in his box, to which he replied, "Thanks, bonny lad!" I was 100 yards further up the road before I realised the implication of what he had said.
