Just watching the final of this strange strange little program on channel 4. Out of all the finalists, only one appears to be white british, despite the fact that the majority of people in this country are white british. Is there something about white br itish culture that doesn't encourage brilliance in children or in other ethnicities that does? or is it just random?

Very strange program, with very strange kids
I didn't see the programme but I'm reminded of a girl who started a maths degree at one of the top universities when she was in her early teens. I would have thought going to Uni was as much about socialising with other students of the same age. She was chaperoned by her father.
PankySnook states the usual Western perspective-in the East they wouldn't be considered strange.

did you see it marsh wobble?
Maybe indigenous kids have too many distractions, like tv, play stations, computer games etc. Most asian children are more disciplined where their time on pc/mobile games/tv are limited. Education & study seems more valued in the asian psych.

I didn't watch the programme, but I have seen similar. The fact it wasn't a Horizon type programme but a "look at these geeks" programme seems to back up a difference in opinion.
Question Author
how do you know what it was like if you didn't see it?
Well Horizon is a BBC programme for a start, but you can infer these things. Maybe I'm being judgemental.
oh ya think?
