O yes! I even remember my Grandmas divi number as we children went down the street to the Co-op to collect her shopping in the mid 50s.
It was a very low number of ........... 60!
Mums was 5440 and mine was 7460
How's that for a good memory?
The Co-op was the first ever supermarket that opened in my area and the first one I shopped in. Small compared to today's supermarkets but it was a revelation
Yes i remember my mums.
My mum had her number in 1942 when she married; no 6386. How come I can remember that, when half the time I cannot remember what I did yesterday!!
7716, she also used it for her alarm code in later years.
I can't remember my mums number but I remember going shopping for her.
We used to get checks/cheques, small oblong strips showing how much you had spent. You had to lick the back of it and stick it on the cheque/check sheet. At the end of the period they added up the amounts and you got your divi as a % of what you had spent.
