People Who Knock On Your Door ….
22 Answers
….show you a card and tell you they’re selling stuff in order to prove to ‘whoever’ that, having misbehaved in the past, they are now on the straight and narrow and eager to work. I had one such person on my doorstep today. He told me he’d been in trouble - nothing terrible - and asked if I would buy his wares in order to help him secure employment in the future. I felt sorry for him, but since he seemed particularly interested in my unseen barking dog, I sent him away.
What is that all about?

very popular a few years ago
I am surprised any survive
subject to scams - basically five or six of these are bussed around given the tags and the stuff and told to work the area
presumably not all
an improvement would be to give them cards saying they were deaf
and I cant remember if it were me or friend who started signing and the fella said (!) " o sod this " and walked off
clearly I close the door on them now

Was watching Crimewatch Roadshow this morning and it's very sad to see how many pensioners fall victim to bogus callers, it's bad enough the ones that just steal money when the victim is upstairs turning the bathroom taps on to check for 'water pressure' etc but there's still evil bastads going round beating these old folks up.
Makes my blood boil!!!!!
