It was at 32,000ft , only a Russian BUK missile could reach that height and ISIS do not have them.
Mind you I would not rule out Putin shooting down/bombing his own aircraft to give him a reason to make a huge strike against ISIS.

EDDIE51, As far as I'm aware Russia has no bases in Sinai. I'm no expert on weaponry, but anything long-range would surely be traceable, wouldn't it? I think explosives loaded into the baggage hold in Sharm a more likely scenario.

I will take it one step further and put my money on this being the first recorded meteorite/bolide impact on an aircraft in flight.
Being hugely improbable does not stop a once in a million years event from happening tomorrow.
