Noel is a well known racist and bigot ... just look at the way he treated that big fat pink fellow!

I'm still laughing at the preposterous idea that Noel Edmonds has personality and influence.
I would dispute that Noel Edmonds is anyone with 'influence'.

It depends what you think of as 'influence' - personally Mr Edmonds opinion is no more or less valid because he is a television personality - that makes him well-known, which is not the same as influential.

The situation Mr Edmonds has encountered is the result of generations of under-investment in infrastructure, and is unlikely to actually support his premise that Britain is 'full'.

The musings of people on social media are just that - it's hardly a manifesto for the future of the nation is it.
Baldric and I have cross-posted, but it appears his position is similar in terms of the importance of Mr Edmonds views on ... well, on anything.
From the link

''Am I alone in feeling Britain is FULL'' (full in caps?)

I think Noel would have put a different word in caps ...

Am I alone in FEELING Britain is full''
Noel Edmonds!!?? You'll be quoting David Icke next.
It's been clear that the country is overpopulated for ages now. Not just because there are so many vehicles on the road that journeys can be abominable. But that is an indication. The subject has been discussed many times. Any celeb can be influential. Anyone who thinks differently overestimates the general population.
Seems to be the general consensus, tbh would be more surprised if a 'celeb' tweeted that Britain could do with more immigration.
Britain isn't full. We just aren't using the space efficiently.
Noel Edmonds is not far off David Icke territory. Look at his book about ordering what you want from the universe.
Noel Edmonds. I met him once. "Obnoxious git" would be an understatement.
I always remember him as the DJ on Radio One who was the only one who never seemed to play any decent music.

He's a bit of an easy target for satirists, so I will leave it at that :-)
Well said Noel, you are right !
'TV personality has relevant point of view and genuine concerns but is pilloried' shocker.

You'll get more comments about his foibles than his concerns for the UK, dieseldick.
How on earth can anyone take that man seriously - just look at that beard
I think the thing with this, it was said when he was stuck in a traffic jam (!)

Of course it could be that old Noel has stumbled on the theory of Special Relativity by noticing that his watch is slow as he speeds up the M1 :-)
Surely we've got a bit more room.....:)
>>>Britain isn't full.

So when does a country become full?

When every bit of grass in concerted over? Can we say we are full then.?

As Old-geezer above says, our roads are full, not because of a lack of investment, but because we have too many vehicles on the road.

I drove back from London to the Midlands a few weeks ago and the M40 had loads of lorries, and every other one seemed to be from Poland, or other Eastern European country (I guess bringing "cheap" goods in to the country).

I think the country IS full, certainly we have reached capacity for our schools, hospitals, etc

I live on the edge of Birmingham and you only have to go a mile or so towards the centre of Birmingham to see schools were EVERY child is an immigrant (mostly Asian). It is awful.
Noel who ?
VHG - //EVERY child is an immigrant (mostly Asian). //

Perhaps you mean ' of Asian origin ...' rather than specifically 'Asian'.

I don't think you can assess a child's country of origin on sight alone.
if people stop buying cheap goods, lorries will stop bringing them here. But if you want an economy where the consumer is king, you have to expect consumer goods to be transported. (Reviving the railways would be a sensible alternative, but who wants money spent on trains when it could be spent on roads?)
