Allow me to just think out loud Talbot. The contentious and divisive 'bedroom' tax is in place and the properties identified, check. Now what if there was a change of government (I know, fly a kite and all that) and one of the promises made was to scrap the tax. With the premises identified and recorded, it is an easy step to make it a condition that the tax is void as soon as the spare room is occupied ......by a refugee. Next move is, well private properties can't be exempt, sauce for the goose etc.

As a country Britain is going a very good job of helping Syrian refugees. Muslim charities have donated millions of pounds, and the government, to give it its due, has been at the forefront of helping the millions of displaced persons in Turkey and in Syria, especially since the closing of the Turkish border.
