I don't think they shave it all off, Mikey. Just a trim. So don't worry about yours. You're on trend. :)
Lol Mikey, thanks for sharing that with us, we had all been itching to know those details! OMG!!!
Cloverjo, actually I think Mikey is right, more so on the continent. It appears that pubes have also gone out of fashion for males and females.
Sorry ratter ! I wouldn't have mentioned it if someone else hadn't first !
It's a long time since I saw any. So I don't really know what's going on down there. How did we get from beards to down below hair?
Billy Connolly said it all ::::

Beards? Filthy unhygienic things...........

Pubic hair.......the same, should be clean shaven down there....male and female.
/How did we get from beards to down below hair? /
Both secondary sexual characteristics Jo, except that shaving it off the face is considered normal but shaving it off the pubes isn't.
/Beards? Filthy unhygienic things.........../ really? facts please.
Cloverjo, Going by some of the beards I see, it looks like they have shaved their pubes and stuck it on their chins! I think that may be the connection!
Lol, ratter.
I an elderly friend of mine suffered for years from really bad coughs, his GP told him to grow a beard, he did so and the coughing stopped, recently he shaved his beard off and he now has a cough again. I must admit to being a little sceptical! But maybe he is right!

Several of the beards that were tested contained a lot of normal bacteria, but some were comparable to toilets.

“Those are the types of things you'd find in (fecal matter),” Golobic said, referring to the tests.

Even though some of the bacteria won’t lead to illness, Golobic said it’s still a little concerning.

But for me, it is just a personal appraisal of beards.
Sqad...what is the situation with beards and surgeons ? I know you are gowned-up.
My beard is always kept impeccably clean and groomed a few times a day. I also think a lot of this nonsense about faecal matter in beards is most like no more than is what is found on the same peoples skin, some people are just dirty urchins!

I have seen people with filthy beards but rarely, I have seen people with filthy faces very regularly. Its more about good old personal hygiene!
@ sqad, so that's a no then..
mikey.....interesting question.

Many surgeons do have beards, but of course one does have a mask to cover the greater part of the beard. However, many surgeons including myself believe that would infections have little to do with the operating theatre transmission of infections, most being infected in the wards by grubby fingers poking at the dressings. I went through a period whereby i didn't cover the wounds with dressings and sent them back to the ward "nude" , no dressings on the incisions. The rate of wound infections fell, but the nursing staff and admin were in such a "tizz" that i gave it up.
jomifl.....LOL...whatever you like.......
sqad, from my few brief stays in hospitals I got the impression that the biggest cause of infection was most likely the cleaning staff.
