My dad smoked a pipe but I don't know anyone who smokes a pipe today. I can't remember the last time I saw anyone smoking a pipe.

Does anyone here smoke a pipe?

Pipe then.
I have done over the years but not for a long time now. I think pipe smoking is fading out with cigarette smoking.
The owner of our local mobile phone shop is often seen standing outside the shop smoking a pipe. He is the only person I know who still smokes a pipe.
I don't know any pipe smokers but the wee sweetie shop around the corner is also a tobaconist. Lovely smell from some of his tobacco.
When I first started teaching nearly all the men who smoked smoked a pipe. You could literally cut through the atmosphere in the common room.
Is pipe smoking as detrimental as cigarettes ? I don't know, it's never mentioned .....
You never see a tobacconist's shop anymore. It's slightly odd that tobacconist's were also sweet shops, back in the day.
I can't remember the last time I saw anyone smoking a pipe. I remember the smell of them. I loved it.
I hadn't read wolf's post when I posted mine. He's said what I said, more or less.
I mean "she", sorry, wolf.
Yes, tobacconists and confectioners. There used to be loads of them. I remember some of the specialist tobacconists - all gone now.
My father always smoked St. Bruno.
I smoked a liquorice pipe once...
Unthinkable these days but back in the 50s every Xmas I would get a junior smoker's set containing liquorice pipes, chocolate cigars, candy cigarettes and sweet tobacco (shredded coconut dusted with chocolate).
Sort of ...I vape, the modern equivalent maybe.
I remember sweet cigarettes, and I also remember when it was cold enough to see our breath in winter. We used to pretend the breath vapour was smoke as we puffed on our sweet ciggies.
I smoked a pipe in the early 70s, a proper tobaconist in Tunbridge Wells used to do his own blending. Uh the good old days.
Around Xmas time you used to get cigarettes in boxes of 50 in a festive sleeve to give as presents.
I remember sweet cigarettes, they used to taper during use and bend easily. I also vaguely remember sweet tobacco as long strands of desiccated coconut covered in something resembling demarera sugar (?)
The sweet tobacco was chocolate-coated.
Demarera ...and no returns.
